About me
After training at my local repertory group in the North East of England, I made my way to London in the early '80s and appeared in several plays there such as Hedda Gabler (Henrik Ibsen), Pygmalion, Major Barbara (George Bernard Shaw), Death of a Salesman (Arthur Miller) and Amadeus (Peter Shaffer). I made my London debut as a Director with Educating Rita (Willy Russell) and followed that up with Middle Aged Spread (Roger Hall) and Anton Chekov's, The Proposal.During my absence from the theatre, I appeared in many film and television roles. I was viewed at the Cannes Film Festival in the short film, Dark Solitude. I have also played parts in the cinema versions of Ghosts, Sherlock Holmes, and Across The Universe. I have been seen in Coronation Street, Cold Blood, Casualty 1907 and several other small screen productions. I appeared in the US web series Day Zero and was nominated as Best Supporting Actor in the Filmed in Utah Awards 2013.
I have also returned to the stage in recent years and was Brian in Last Orders by Sean Ashworth, and played the part of talent scout, Bob Bishop in Ian Winterton's adaptation of Jack Rosenthal's The Best.
Additionally, I have written stage plays, including 'Run For Home' and 'Bad Moon Rising'. Both were staged in the North East of England in 2014, with the former also being part of the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival the same year. A radio play I have written was recorded at the end of February 2015.
