About me
February 2022, joining Starnow and Mandy. Passionate about the Arts I've lived and breathed it, in one capacity or another, nearly all my life. To me music, film & drama are all instrinsically and deeply interconnected. I'm 63 years young and am in no mindset to retire any time soon. There's much more I would like to do, to experience and so much more I have yet to give. Whatever opportunities come my way I will devote 100% commitment, dedication and energy to them. I'm Australian, a graduate of the Western Australian Institute of Technology (B.A. in English) and former student of the Australian Film & TV School in Sydney (audio dept). I first came to the UK in 1981 (on a life-changing adventure...which hasn't stopped) and became an exchange student to the National Film School, followed by further music training culminating in a Dip. Mus. from University of Surrey in 1983. "Hunt" I also work under my previous name "Cann" (see also "Jude Cann Hunt"). I'm a Mum (grown-up kids) a widow and now a dual (British) citizen. It's now 2024, 2 years since writing the above, and what an amazing 2 years it's been! I'm keen to develop further, broaden my experience, over and above the 18 short shoots and the 5 live events (with Paul Vitty and the History Knights). It's been an added bonus that on a couple of the shoots my piano playing ability formed part of the characters I was portraying.Self-Recording
For voice and music work I use a Rode NT4 microphone recording onto Protools. For video recordings I can only record onto my laptop, using the camera with the laptop itself.License & Passport

Highlights
-
In 2010 I was the subject for the TV reality show, Cowboy Trap (I was the home owner, not the builder!).
-
In my young days I was cast as the lead role (title role ) of the pilot for an Australian soap opera directed by Ron Way. This was a fully professional, paid production. However, the pilot film didn't then lead to the series being produced. I was also a company member in a youth drama academy and so was in public stage performances. In my late teens I was cast in a non-paying short drama film. I have a B.A. in English (majoring in film making, submajoring in Theatre Arts) from the Western Australian institute of Technology which included acting classes and public stage performances. In more recent years, here in the UK, I haven't appeared in front of the camera but have used my voice for v/o recordings (for short films, poems and short story recordings which I have recorded, edited and produced myself in my home recording studio. These have all been in an unpaid capacity (including short horror genre film "Legend of the Chained Oak" 2014 See IMDb listing for this film where I am credited in the sound dept ) . I can supply a show reel of these recordings. As well as voice over work I would also like to work in front of the camera again.

I am a classically trained pianist (private tuition) to Diploma standard but also started composing at a very young age. In my student days I wrote music for semi-professional short films in Australia and for other students' films. After my year at the National Film School in the UK I then had 6 month's private composing and conduction tuition with Dr Hans Heimler in Guildford, followed by a 1 year Dip. Mus at University of Surrey. I began working as a professional self-employed composer in 1985. I have approx 200 tracks of (Library) Production Music out with Chappell and also Universal record labels. These are under my maiden name Judith Cann. Most of my professional fim music commission (sync-to-picture) were for documentary films and include corporate videos on the making of the Channel Tunnel, "A Tale of 4 Market Towns" by Meridian TV, Open University films and "1492 A Shattered Utopia" by Bensalem Boabdallah. In more recent years I have composed and recorded music for several low budget horror genre films in an unpaid capacity (eg: see IMDb listing Jude Cann Hunt "Beneath Still Water" 2016.) I was also commissioned by writer/director Chris Manoe for his docu-drama film "Larissa. The Lost Romanov?" (see Judith Cann IMDb listing), which was made publically available in 2019. I am a member of the Musicians' Union and PRS. Despite having composed music for a wide range of different documentaries, and have extremely varying types of tracks Production Music published (including tracks used in "Spongebob Squarepants" and "Ren & Stimpy" cartoons), as a composer I most naturally gravitate towards emotive, expressive, ethereal and dramatic styles of pieces, with a firm grounding in the classical genre. I Have a home recording studio (with Protools and sample plug-ins) and can provide a show reel upon request.

In my student days at the National Film & TV School here in the UK, I was an extra in another student's film. I am keen to do professional extras work.
