About me
Katrina is a vocal coach/producer with a wealth of performing arts industry experience, having had a successful career as a recording artist with MCA/ Universal records touring with American rock artists Richard Marx and Curtis Stigers, countless TV/radio appearances and recording an album with top American producer Chris- Lord- Alge whose treatment can be found on an array of artist’s from Tina Turner to Bon Jovi.She also had top ten chart success as a singer/songwriter for Manchester United football club and composed the theme music for a TV series.
She had management contracts with ’60′ pop star Adam Faith, which led to working with the Barbara Dickson/Elaine Paige production teams and an appearance in the 1989 ‘Song for Europe’.
After having considerable experience as an artist she was employed by Polydor records to work as vocal coach/ producer and artist development for a roster of young pop stars starting out on their careers – (Lisa Scott Lee – Steps and Dance chart sensation Tara Macdonald, and a boy girl duo Taylor Caine who toured with Ronan Keating where she was responsible for working on vocal arrangements and looking after the vocal welfare of artists whilst on tour.
After 7 years of being on the other side of the creative process she was offered a world wide theatre Abba production tour playing the lead role of Frida where the production won best musical and received this accolade at a Star gala in Mannheim, Germany performing alongside Tom Jones and Meatloaf.
After 10 years of touring, performing to 20,000 capacity arenas and working with a long list of artists including Belinda Carlisle, Status Quo and Lulu to name but a few, decided it was time to return to her real passion of studying voice pedagogy.
She studied with VIDLA (Vocalist international distance learning academy)gaining a Diploma in the teaching of contemporary vocals where she also works as a personal tutor/lecturer besides being the principal of her own vocal studio Vocal Fry’s Academy.
