About me
Kevin has been involved in the entertainment industry from a very early age making his first professional appearance in the West End revival of Oliver! at the age of nine as one of the gang to Ron Moody’s Fagin. There then followed a series of ‘blink and you’ll miss ‘em’ appearances in The Bill, Eastenders, Mona Lisa and a few adverts. He also played in various bands including an appearance on Sky Star Search aged 13 and promoted gigs all over South London. Kevin then played the part of ‘Baz’ in BBC TV’s Growing Pains for 6 episodes before joining the cast of The Roy Orbison Story at the tender age of 18.Over the course of three years he understudied and played virtually every role in the show eventually taking over as Musical Director. Since then Kevin has been in Return to the Forbidden Planet, Blood Brothers, Four Steps to Heaven, Come Dancing (with Ray Davies), From a Jack to a King and the Circus of Horrors playing any combination of Piano, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Percussion, Saxophone, Trombone, Harmonica, Bouzouki, Mandolin and singing (although not necessarily at the same time.)
As Musical Director Kevin has worked on: Elvis – The Musical, Pump Boys and Dinettes (being the best of a bad bunch he was also made Dance Captain!), The Buddy Holly Story, Thriller Live, Harry’s Webb, Jailhouse Rock, Dancing in the Streets, American Idiot, Oliver!, Spring Awakening, 9 to 5, Made in Dagenham, Zorro, Zorba, Lipstick on your Collar, Jesus Christ Superstar, Bugsy Malone, Summer Holiday, Buddy Vs the Killer, The Who’s Tommy & loads of pantomimes. As Producer he has been involved in; The Woodstock Experience, Sensation - the music of The Who and Buddy vs the Killer, all of which might be on tour somewhere! He is also 'Altay' in the smartphone game CSR2 which delights his sons greatly!
He holds a nostalgic candle for the days before autotune and his musical tastes are firmly planted in the 50’s, 60’s & 70‘s. Testament to this is the day job: playing John Paul Jones in the award winning tribute act ‘Hats Off To Led Zeppelin’!
