Biography
Alex Rudegeair can best be described as a modern "renaissance man". He is an actor, artist, athlete and an award winning entrepreneur from Lancaster, PA. Born in 1991, Alex has been developing his skills since a very early age and is continually blending the lines between art and entertainment. Whether it being in craft or performance, Alex is always creating; always taking the path less traveled.
A millennial with an old soul, he holds true to the term "Jack of all trades". Growing up as the youngest of three siblings in a small rural town, Alex's early years with his family were spent in a modest and loving household in Myerstown, Pennsylvania. His entrepreneurial father, Samuel T. Rudegeair, and mother, Lori A. Rudegeair (Wilson), a nurse, gave Alex the freedom to tinker, build and express himself creatively. Being a tinkerer himself, his father would always come home with old electronics and antiques for Alex to disassemble and play with. This is when he began to develop a fascination for design and construction in the world around him. Alex played almost every school sport while excelling in his art classes throughout elementary school. In his early teen years he began to gravitate towards the extreme sports, such as skateboarding, BMX, motocross and snowboarding. At age 14 he began to design skateboard deck graphics, build full size skate park ramps and print and sell skateboard stickers to his friends in school. Alex was always a class clown in school and struggled academically. But was surprised when the principal of his high school congratulated him for scoring in the top 5% of his class in the PSSA tests. He went on to graduate in 2009 and was accepted to Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he majored in Architecture. After two semesters Alex dropped out to join the workforce where he went on to work for his fathers waste management company.
In 2011, Alex returned to Thaddeus Stevens for Carpentry Technology where he learned in class and hands on, the fundamentals of residential and commercial building construction, many times staying after class to make cutting boards and furniture that he designed. Realizing he had a knack for furniture making, Alex went on to open up a custom design wood shop called RudeWood (Now known as Rude Design + Build Studio) in 2014, with the tools that his parents got him for his graduation present.
During the four years in business, Alex and his partner & co-founder designed and built many custom projects for large names such as Nike, Converse, Yamaha Guitars, Jack Antonoff, Re/max, Lululemon and Rock Lititz, as well as many commercial and residential clients in the Mid-Atlantic area. His goal with the company was to release their pilot episodes in the hopes of landing them their own TV show. However at the end of 2017, he and his partner decided to close down the company due to personal and business issues. Alex went on to focus on his acting and has since worked on the new An American Pickle staring Seth Rogen, Dead of Night in the role of Jay Green and Mindhunter Season 2 staring Jonathan Groff who is also originally from Lancaster, Pa. He has also worked on a few commercials and short films.
Alex resides on the East Coast in the NYC and Philadelphia market and has several projects in the works for 2019.
