About me
Anthony began his career in popular music, singing and playing guitar in the bars and cafes of his native Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He studied opera at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. When he moved to France, he spent several years performing in the opera houses of Avignon, Toulon, Nice, Monte Carlo, Nimes, Montpelier etc... with Montserrat Caballe, Jose Carreras, Jose Van Dam and many others. Since returning to London, he has been performing in music theatre in the West End including The Phantom of the Opera, Sunset Boulevard, Whistle Down the Wind, Napoleon and on No. 1 tours around the UK. His work for the Royal National Theatre includes Love's Labours Lost with Joseph Fiennes, Anything Goes with John Barrowman also The Sound of Music at The London Palladium With Connie Fisher. Anthony has given recitals and concerts in Germany, Russia and France. He has performed his one man show Jacques Brel-The Rage to live (www.jacquesbrel-thragetolive.co.uk) which has received great critical acclaim in the UK, France and Germany. Anthony played the role of Baldy O'Shea in the Flaherty/Ahrens/McNally musical A Man Of No Importance at the Arts Theatre Leicester Square and the Major general in the all male Pirates Of Penzance at the Rose Theatre, Kingston. He also played Lord Milton in The Fool by Edward Bond; a production directed by the author. In the drama documentary "The Very Short Life Of Jason Swift" Anthony plays the Role of Sidney Cooke was recently broadcast on Sky. For The Discovery Channel he played the role of the Roman General Varus in The Varian disaster.Most recently he wrote the music for and played in the French existentialist film Noir Qui Gagne written and directed by Martin Ziegler. He is also a prize winning short story writer and poet.Additional skills:
