About me
My love for acting began at the age of 9, when I got my first paid work in Paris Street-Theatre, lead by a Lecoq trained theatre company. After 13 years of acting experience since, I have graduated from Exeter University with a BA Hons in Drama and am now eager to find work as an actor. I was born in Surrey but consequently have lived in Germany for 2 years, Paris for 10 years, Cyprus for 5 years and England since 2013. I speak French fluently and am able to speak in a variety of different accents (or can study and perfect them when a role requires it). I have rigorous stage training but would also be extremely interested in acting for film, after having thoroughly enjoyed my two years of screen acting lessons at Hurtwood House, a sixth-form college in Dorking which specialises immensely in performing arts.At university, I have accumulated experience in acting, directing, choreography, producing, stage managing, teching and costume managing, and am thankful for the very rounded experience of theatre, as it has offered me insight into the needs and visions of each cast and crew member in a production and how they work together to make a spectacular show. Having tried my hand at these different roles, I have found that my biggest passion is acting, closely followed by directing, which is also a path I am planning, hopefully, to follow after some years of acting work. I have directed 6 shows, including Shakespeare's 'Taming of the Shrew' which I set in a gym, Tristan Bernays' fierce play 'Boudica' as a found space piece in a forest, and my own stage adaptation of 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'. All 6 taught me valuable lessons in directing as well as acting, and have been some of the best experiences of my life.
My acting experiences include straight plays, street-theatre, comedy sketch shows, pantomime, character-acting as Snow White at children's parties, devised pieces, singing and dancing in musical theatre as well as operettas. Whether I am playing the utterly bonkers 'Mad Margaret' from Ruddigore, the kind and gentle princess 'Snow White' in a Christmas panto, or more earthy roles such as 'Beatrice' from View from the Bridge, I always fall in love with the role and work extremely hard at home and with the director and team to give my company and my audience the best performance I can possibly give.
