About me

Ian lives both in Berlin, Germany and Plymouth, UK. Since 2017 he has dual British-German citizenship. He was born in Plymouth, and grew up in St. Germans, a village in South East Cornwall.
In 1983 he relocated to London and in 1985 co-founded and managed the music publishing company ‘Anxious Music’ and the independent record label ‘Anxious Records’ together with Dave Stewart of Eurythmics. He resigned from the Anxious companies in 1988 and, following work on Eurythmics' 'Revival' world tour in 1989/90, he studied drama and English literature at ‘The Working Men´s College’, London whilst working freelance in the music business. He left the UK for Berlin in 1995.
Ian has appeared on various stages in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich, both in English and German, including five years at the Deutsches Theater and two years at the Maxim Gorki Theater, he has also played roles in numerous international and German films and TV productions.
Ian has over twenty years of experience in all areas of voice-over and voice-directing. He has a deep, warm, versatile, convincing voice that is friendly, plausible, confident, strong and effective, very popular for advertising, image and industry films with numerous leading international companies.

Ian has played roles in numerous international and German films and TV productions including: 'Trautmann' (Marcus H. Rosenmüller), '8' (Wim Wenders), 'A Hologram for the King' (Tom Tykwer), 'Passion' (Brian De Palma), 'The Physician' (Philipp Stölzl), 'The Power' (Paul Hills), 'Fay Grim' (Hal Hartley), 'V For Vendetta' (James McTeigue), 'Weak Heart Drop' and 'Tom Atkins Blues' (Alex Ross) and Grimme Prize winner 'Paul Is Dead' (Hendrik Handloegten).
He has appeared on various stages in Berlin, Frankfurt / Main and Munich, performing both in English and German, including five years at the Deutsches Theater and two years at the Maxim Gorki Theater. Productions include works by Shakespeare, Beckett, Pinter, Wilde, Berkoff, Marber and Ibsen.
