About me
Robin McLoughlin is an actor, writer and theatre-maker. He studied theatre acting at Bretton Hall and went on to specialise in classical acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama where he played Malvolio, Shylock, Iago and the Porter.After training Robin toured widely with Precarious Physical Theatre in Druthers (Total Theatre Wildcard Award 2007) and The Factory. Other credits include Oliver Cromwell for Bristol Old Vic and The Speakers’ Corner Trust, Blunt in Aphra Behn’s The Rover, Pozzo in Waiting for Godot and Prospero in Anomic Physical Theatre’s Such Stuff as Dreams.
Robin has played Dennis in One-Eighty, Charlie in Battery, Jack in The Canada Boys, Jimmy in Parachute and Malcom in Winter '53 for Feast Theatre, a company formed to bring theatre makers from the east of England back to the region. Since 2010 Robin has been appearing with Fine Chisel in the highly praised Firing Blanks which was revived as part of the company’s 2012 season and along with Midnight at the Boar’s Head and Unplugged won the Three Weeks Editor’s Choice Award for the company. These shows toured the UK in the autumn of 2013. Dumbstruck premiered at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe where it won a Fringe First and an MTN award for innovation. Robin is currently working with long-term collaborator Holy Beasley-Garrigan on The Route Becomes The Square.
