About me
Doug Sakmann is an award-winning producer and director living in Philadelphia, PA. Originally from Queens NY, over the last twenty years Sakmann has produced over 45 feature films as well as many TV projects, music videos, short films & commercials. Doug is also an accomplished Production Designer, SPFX Artist & FX Supervisor, creating art looks, monsters and horrific blood & gore FX for all types of projects around the world.Most recently, Sakmann worked as Art Director and Production Coordinator on the ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ reboot for Netflix, Assistant Shop Gangboss and Set Dresser for the AMC series ‘Dispatches From Elsewhere’ as well as SPFX Supervisor for the creature feature ‘D-Railed’, which has won over 30 awards at Film Festivals around the world in 2020. Sakmann also directed the latest music video for death metal band Cannibal Corpse.
Doug is also founder of the NYC Zombie Crawl – an organization that sets up zombie-themed events in the NY Area as well as provides zombie SFX makeup for movies, TV and nationally touring acts. Clients include Sony Pictures, AMC, The Walking Dead, Sega, the Tribeca Film Festival, NBC, Bravo Networks, the Travel Channel, Impractical Jokers, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Sailor Jerry Rum and many more. The event has been highlighted in specials on MTV and the SyFy Network along with many NY media outlets.
