About me
I fell in love with costume design at a very young age, and began learning to sew. At fourteen, I made my first costumes for stage, and have worked a minimum of freelance since then.I gained work experience at John Brooking Theatre design for my first placement, and started making costumes for school productions and small local theatres, gaining experience as a stage hand, set designer and painter and wardrobe mistress along the way. Throughout sixth form, I became a member of the performing arts council alongside studying my a levels, before undertaking a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at the Further education campus of CCAD, specialising in textiles.
I then progressed on from there to the higher education campus, taking on a course in Fashion Enterprise, gaining a First in both my degree over all, and my Dissertation on 'The dividing lines between costume and fashion'.
I helped fund equipment and living costs for my course designing and making wedding dresses, vintage reproduction and burlesque costumes.
Since graduating, I have worked across both fashion and costume, showing at both London and New York fashion weeks.
