About me
Harriet Kendall graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2004 with a 2:1 in Fashion Design BA (Hons) where she specialised in womens wear. Her final collection took inspiration from period architecture, this led her to incorporate hand cut leather, and silkscreen designs into clothing. To complement the structure of the leatherwork Harriet used silk jersey draped on to the stand to fashion soft fluted jersey wear.Harriet developed her skills working for the BBC, winning a place at Edinburgh college of Art and Design on a Costume Design Course and volunteering to build the foundations of a charity based theatre and workshops in Spain.
After her degree, Harriet gained a position at "Angels" the Costumier for five and a half years where she worked with BAFTA winning costume designers on large-scale film productions and long running television programmes.
At "Angels", she selected costumes in a creative and imaginative way to a specific brief for Film, TV and Theatre productions. Gaining invaluable insight into historical dress, she built up an extensive knowledge of period and contemporary clothing for men's wear and ladies wear. Harriet has a great knowledge of period fabric, colour, accessories and costume construction.
Harriet is highly professional and able to organise the fittings and the dressing of actors for principals and for large numbers of support actors. She worked with stylists, photographers and designers and artists for projects including fashion shoots for national and international Magazines, book covers, TV commercials, Music Videos and Haute Couture Fashion research.
In 2010 Harriet became freelance and now uses all her skills, knowledge and abilities in a variety of ways and takes on freelance, commissioned, and projects works.
