About me
My twin brother Eyan and my interest in film and filmmaking began as far back as we can remember. We grew up on a farm in Tennessee and our father is an artist and our mother is an attorney and they were always supportive of our dreams and aspirations. We’ve always appreciated the arts and were always inspired by the way that film could reach people in a way that no other medium can. Since we lived too far away from a city to have cable tv, we spent our early years watching an endless amount of VHS’. That is one of the ways we fell in love with movies, and as soon as we got a hold of a video camera around age 11 we began seeing filmmaking as a not just a hobby but as the very thing we wanted to do for the rest of our lives. Which was to tell absorbing stories through the magic of movies. Movies are our passion and our life, and as soon as college rolled around we knew we wanted to take our interest in motion pictures to the next level by majoring in film. Through our many years of studying film and filmmaking at both the undergraduate and graduate level our passion and determination continued to grow. In May we graduated from The University of Memphis Graduate school with Masters’ degrees in film and video production. We fulfilled another dream of having our movies screened for the public in three separate festivals over the past year and a half. We were lucky enough to have more films selected for the prestigious Indie Memphis Film Festival this past fall than any other filmmakers at the festival. Three of our short films were selected and screened throughout the week long festival and loved by audiences, which made us feel incredibly honored. Last May my brother Eyan and I had an in depth featured article written about us and our shared journey as filmmakers in the reputable publication The Commercial Appeal. My twin Eyan and I love to accomplish tasks that others might see as not plausible or not worth the effort. We take the intensity we gained from our families’ work ethic and from being college athletes into our filmmaking. Being co-directors with my twin brother is also a large part of what makes our films and style so unique and distinctive. We always have a shared vision for what we want from a project, and as twins we always understand what the other wants to accomplish with the actors, the story, and all of the important elements of the films we make. Working together creates a much more smooth and efficient environment for us because we are there to keep each other on track. People love seeing us work together and seeing our appreciation for the art of filmmaking. We’ve never forgotten that being born twins was a gift that we need to harness and utilize in life and our career as filmmakers. We believe that both of our unorthodox minds can contribute great things to the world of filmmaking like many other great artists before us. Our films and style are and amalgam of all that we love about the art of motion pictures. Like the great Cohen brothers, who we’ve been compared to our entire lives, we love to make a story our own and break the conventions and typical narrative strategies that many other filmmakers forget aren’t set in stone. We feel that no matter what the story is about it should feel original and be told in a way that is inventive and fresh. Our ideal directing career would be similar to the Cohen Brothers, by continuing to co-direct and tell stories that challenge people’s perceptions of what a movie should be and inspire viewers in the ways that they have. We truly believe that given the resources we can potentially be seen as auteurs similar to idols of ours like Steven Spielberg and Wes Anderson by bringing our personal style and signature touches to any project. We’d love to be co-directors that make films very much our own where our particular craft is always visible.Referees:
