About me
Joy Williams designs and manufactures exclusive and unique latex rubber wear for costume and fashion. Specialising in bold, contemporary designs, Joy's work shies from the stereotypical, utilising traditional and cutting edge techniques to create exquisitely embellished pieces. It is this craft aesthetic that has allowed Joy to develop an individual style in the latex fashion world - one that builds on structure and texture. Pieces from Joy's 2010/11 collection take inspiration from 17th century Damascus glass with clean architectural silhouettes, applique and lazer cut.
The 2011/12 collection takes this textural journey further, borrowing streamline, Deco geometry and translating it through quilting and paneling. Her most recent pieces are adorned with sensual and tactile Art Nouveau embossing.
A proud Northerner, Joy graduated from the Cambridge School of Art in 2010 and is now based in Brighton, Sussex.
