For the last 20 years Mike Hammond has been the head of one of the Ministry of Defence's film and video production units. He has created, produced and directed a large number of productions of all types, however he specialises in drama. Over the years he has produced and directed work featuring many artists such as Warren Mitchell, Tony Britton, Penelope Keith, Peter Bowles, Nick Ross (whom he filmed at a hired studio in BBC Television Centre London), Tom Baker etc. In 2008 he produced and directed a short film called 'Heroes' which was a tribute to the men and women of the UK Armed Forces past and present and was given a certificate 'U' and shown at cinemas throughout the UK. It featured music by John Barry. It was shown in the presence of the Duchess of Cornwall. He produced and directed a television advertisement for a private health company and this was shown on ITV. He also produced work for NBC Television News. Recently he has finished part one of a three part drama for one of the security services about industrial espionage called 'The Full Picture', starring Robert Daws (The Royal, Tuppy Glossop in Jeeves and Wooster) with over 19 other actors and over 50 extras. All filmed using broadcast HD Sony F3 cameras with prime lenses and full crew.He produced and directed 'Reduce The Risk (September 2011) a drama film about UVIED's (Under Vehicle Improvised Explosive Devices) with actor Charlie Lawson (Jim Mcdonald in Coronation Street) plus a whole host of other actors.
