About me
My journey has only just begun and although my professional experience is limited at present I am actively seeking to remedy this through assistant roles and work experience opportunities. I am highly motivated and enjoy each aspect of the process from concept and research through to production. I have high expectations of myself and those around me, but at the same time I believe that everyone should be treated with respect and civility. I am professional and I work hard in every task I am given, it is in my nature to commit fully to any challenge. My fashion training affords me a strong understanding of the importance of clothes and the way in which everyday costume has evolved. I have developed effective pattern cutting and construction skills which support my work and allow me to realise ideas confidently. I also have knowledge and enthusiasm for fabric manipulation and textile techniques which gives my work an additional dimension.
Additional skills:
Design. Construction using both domestic and industrial sewing machines and overlockers. Pattern cutting and design realisation. Creative textiles. Breaking down garments. Illustration. Competent using Adobe Photoshop and all standard Office applications.
Referees:
Alison Sunnock (Deputy Costume Supervisor - The New Vic Theatre, Newcastle-under-Lyme)
