About me
Whether on set, in the wild or from his skateboard, Trevor Hawkins’ appetite for cinema, wildlife and adventure has taken him around the globe. His unique aesthetic as director and cinematographer has earned endless millions of views, three Vimeo Staff-Picks, the title “Exceptional Filmmaker” from National Geographic and worldwide acclaim from various magazine, film, television and commercial industries. Hawkins also works as a screenwriter, editor, colorist, still photographer and occasionally as an energetic on-screen personality. Hawkins founded the film and photography studio, MAMMOTH, in 2010 and has used this platform to represent his work ever since. Beyond feature films, he creates documentaries, tourism and wildlife videos, TV shows, commercials and photography. He is represented by RW2 Productions for his commercial work and FilmSupply for licensing. He’s also a life-long resident of Lake Lotawana, MO and can be found sailing, rehabilitating wildlife, wakeboarding, and “gettin’ wet ‘n wild with the other lake rats.”"[Trevor Hawkins] has the ability to capture the large-scale wonder and grandeur of our entire existence, but can then travel down to share the most intimate of details and moments." - Jordan Gray, Creative Director, VML
“Director Trevor Hawkins proves that he is one to watch. He’s a talented filmmaker with fresh cinematic vision and an enormous amount of passion.” - Shawn Edwards, FOX
Hawkins wore many hats on his first full-length feature film, Lotawana, including writer, director, cinematographer, editor and colorist. Today, he is currently in-development of his next feature films and series, as well as a full-length documentary spanning several years of production with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science about the importance and neglect of science in much of the world’s mainstream popular culture. In 2012 he was hired by the President of Rwanda to create a film rebranding Rwanda’s image to the rest of the world. He has also created tourism videos for such destinations as Barcelona, British Columbia, South Dakota and El Berguedà, Catalonia, Spain. His work as a wildlife filmmaker has led him to capture countless wild species including Mountain Gorilla, Amazon Boto Dolphin, Sand Tiger Shark, Chimpanzee, African Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Black Bear, Crocodile, Moose, Orca, and many others. Although not a hunter himself, Hawkins is widely acknowledged as dramatically reforming the creative and story-telling standards of the hunting television industry with the show, Heartland Bowhunter, which he turned into one of the most popular, top-viewed hunting shows on television after his first season. He created an online cult-following for his films and continues to work for clients such as National Geographic, ESPN, RedBull, Ford, EPA, OCEARCH, AMC Theatres, Bass Pro Shops, Remington, Stella Artois, Heineken, Boulevard Brewing Co. and Outdoor Channel to name a few.
