About me
Usmaan is a creative and ambitious multi-skilled videographer, doing the majority of his work for BBC News and looking to expand into wider markets, and to grow as a professional and as a creative. He has 6 years of professional experience of shooting and editing news, documentary and short films, with an artistic flair with a passion for film making. A keen eye for detail, with a skill for efficient storytelling be it artistic, factual or promotional. The content he provides differs from competition as he am able to incorporate a story telling element having a great amount of experience in that. And typical most small videography businesses are often limited to a stylistic approach to video.

Additional information:
My experience in live broadcasting began with 'Vinco Sport' now know as 'Run Jump Throw' having started out operating the cameras I progressed to setting up live streams of track and field events streaming across the internet to over 60,000 people across the world. From here I progressed on to working for a local television station where we produced 30 minutes of entertainment content daily for viewers across the country with a reach of about removed viewers daily. the content for the daily entertainment news program where we focused on local events and businesses, giving them a platform to promote themselves on our television station. Often creating 2-3 videos a day, filming and editing, here I development my story telling skills along with learning about the best ways to promote various different businesses with methods that suits them best. Alongside developing local contacts and interpersonal skills as professional working with clients.
From Local TV my career progressed into working for BBC News, creating news content for removed viewers, working as a live studio camera operator and video editor. I have been operating live studio cameras daily for 3 years with removed people watching performing complex movements with the cameras where the slightest mistake is seen by hundreds of thousands. Daily I work on complex edits which follow the BBC's values and ethics to provide quality unbiased news with the utmost quality and accuracy in storytelling.
Working as a freelance videographer I have worked with businesses of all sizes from small start up businesses, looking for videos to promote themselves on social media, to large multinational businesses, looking to create training videos for internal staff and short form social media content to promote the business and upcoming events. Also having created videos honoring charities which have made huge differences in the world, and had the video played at special events having entire crowds in tears watch the video, through the storytelling skill I have developed I will be able to offer promotional content which stands out from our competition.
Alongside videography work I have been able to continue making short films from university and through my professional career, a creative output is very important to me. For my MA I did a take on Bernard Queysanne's Un homme qui dort, I moved on from there to work on short film dramas, as an AC then on to the role of DP, and most recently I tried my hand at the art department in Clio Barnard's most recent feature 'Ali and Ava.
