About me
http://ekren.design/Christian Ekren is a Freelance Sound Designer and Engineer based in Fargo, North Dakota. He has been working professionally in technical theatre and live event production for more than 10 years with an emphasis in sound reinforcement and multimedia integration with community, educational, professional, and commercial companies around the world.
He is currently the Head Sound for the international tour of Disney on Ice: Mickey's Search Party produced by Feld Entertainment, Inc.
His designs (RENT, 2015; HAIR, 2016 – West Fargo Summer Arts Intensive) have been recognized with regional awards from the Northern Boundary Section of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (NBS-USITT). These recognitions included scholarships to two national USITT conferences which furthered his education in the art of sound design and the craft of audio engineering.
In 2017, Christian had the opportunity to attend the 70th Annual Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland as both a Sound and Projection Designer with Sheyenne High School Theatre’s production of REELING through the American High School Theatre Festival (AHSTF).
Christian is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems and minor in Computer Science. This degree complements his practical experience with its focus on business management and organization, as well as its diverse training in modern computer technologies.
