About me
An African American aspiring Director and Producer, I have been studying film and Television since Community college. As a young girl I grew up falling in love with the way music videos were made and thought to myself what if I could do that. I then began to look at many movies and television shows growing more and more passionate about the way stories are told through film, music and television. I began writing short stories in my diary and making up little television shows in my head. It may sound crazy but it helped me visualize my ideas and inspired me to start writing short little scripts, I had no common knowledge of writing scripts but I wrote what I envisioned and that was my story. After High school I knew what I wanted to do and that was to become a producer and screenplay writer. I studied at Sullivan County Community college in Communication and Media Studies and immediately fell in love with it. During my academic career, I was able to produce and direct my own shows, I always knew I wanted to be a producer, but my passion for Directing came later on, I can remember sitting down for the first time in the control room in the Directors seat thinking to myself am I going to just call action! But it was far more complex calling and setting up different shots, snapping my fingers yelling ready camera one, ready camera two. The adrenaline rush I experienced while sitting in that seat gave me a whole new different perspective on the role of a Director. I then knew that my aspirations and goal in life was to become a Director and at that an African American female Director. I am currently studying Digital Media Production at The State University of New Paltz. I am graduating in December 2013 and would love to be mentored by a Director who has worked on many projects in film, television, and music. Please take the time to look through my experience. Thank You.
