About me
Hi, I'm Jon, a true born and bred lad from Devon. For me, making films has not been some lifelong ambition that is suddenly reaching fruition. I grew up on a small farm in Devon and so knew from an early age the idea of working hard for not a lot, which making films can sometimes feel like. However I also appreciate the gratifying nature of completing a film and the experience that is gained from such an endeavour.Like most kids I thought the idea of Hollywood and the glamour was nice, but it was not what drove me to film. It was the first time I sat in front of a piece of editing software; the power to create and craft a piece of visual content (even if it was what I would now refer to as the painful process of Windows Movie Maker) was a remarkable feeling that I still love now. When this turned into the realisation that a career in film could be possible, I decided to grab the bull by the horns (farming pun intended) pack my bags and head to the Midlands for University.
Since being at university my ambition has grown tenfold and my skills have not kept purely to the path of editing. Instead I’ve tried my hand at a bit of everything from sound to camera, from producing to directing, and on the odd occasion some awful acting.
In July I graduated from Staffordshire University with First Class Honours in Film Productions Technology, BSc (Hons) and I now aim to grow my portfolio and begin advancing my career. I have some great projects on the horizon and i'm sure there are many more to come.
