Highlights
-
In my first year at university, I have had to take on many different job roles such as, director, cameraman, editor, assistant editor and sound. I have worked as a VT/runner for TV studio work for my course, this has involved filming and editing footage together and handing it on time to the rest of the crew. From this, I have received very positive feedback and overall my group achieved a first for their efforts.
I've recently started my second year at university and I feel like I've improved a lot since Year 1 and have gained a sense of identity which shows within my methods of work, especially in editing and cinematography. For one of my modules, I had to make a film every week for 6 weeks and then make a showreel out of all of the footage. You can find my showreel in the video section on my profile. What will also be found there is a documentary. 'The One and Only Euan', recently made for my Documentary Production module from the first term. I filmed and edited this film together on my own as I made the choice to work on this project independently. This piece of work achieved a first at 70%.
As well as using Abode Premiere Pro CS6, I use a number of other editing software packages including, Photoshop CS6 and will be studying it as an extra module next term where an exam will be taking place. I have a good eye for detail and am aware of continuity in editing. I enjoy editing films and welcome the opportunity to demonstrate my worth in a commercial environment. I'm very open minded as I can voice my opinions to peers and coworkers. I also can take on feedback very well, whether it's positive or critical; I learn and work on improving myself from feedback to better my abilities and performance.
