A government assassin tracks down a humanoid extraterrestrial murdering former members of his team.
In an alternate history communist America five years after world war, a former member of the Legion, a military hit squad, is brutally murdered in a back alley outside a bar by a renegade alienoid named Mikhail. The best of the Legion's former trackers, Harrison, is forced out of retirement by The Party to discreetly eliminate the alien "Dropa." He questions bartender Yelena, and discovers she is part of an underground resistance sympathetic to the Dropa. Yelena reveals that the Dropa had given her a message for Monroe: "There's a traitor among the Legion".
