Working the graveyard shift for a seedy small time New York radio station DJ Sam takes another call. Disillusioned with the customary insomniac cranks she initially treats the call with her usual indifference. However all is not as it seems; As the mysterious voice eerily reveals abilities to control her life Sam's skepticism turns to fear, and the caller's bizarre philosophical questioning rapidly evolves to reveal a terrifying deception that will determine the future of mankind, leaving the world little time to contemplate what it is to be human.
