Steady Past Your Grandma While She’s Dancing is a dance film uncovering the tender yet powerful unity between the four maternal generations of women in Sam’s family.

Capturing a rare and precious moment in time, director Sam Lawrence pays homage to the everyday rhythms and routines of a great-grandmother, grandmother, mother and daughter relationship, all wedded by one common love – dance. Through a patchwork of choreographed impressions, laced together with humour, reminiscence and the timeless sounds of 1930’s dance band music, Steady Past Your Grandma While She’s Dancing captures the bittersweet immortality of an inter-generational family bond.
