The relationship between two old friends

Maureen 'sees death' in spillages of liquids. Her friend Ethel, a widow, has visited the wonders of the world, and knits pictures of them. She tries to encourage Ethel to come with her. On a park bench they discuss Ethel's next trip to the Taj Mahal. Ethel spills the jam in her doughnut and Maureen sees something - but what?
