I failed!!

I'm sorry to say that I failed quite miserably to get elected on to Council even though CCPers gave me such a great deal of support.
Thank you all for all of your kind words and for voting for me in the elections. I got 389 votes. I needed about one thousand!
But at least the turnout was higher by 27%. Although that means only 10% of Equity members actually bothered to vote.
Good luck to new President, Graham Hamilton, and to all of the CCPers who made it on to Council this time around!
Who knows? In two years I may be back again!!

I'm not boo hooing! I just feel that once again the factionalised voting has taken its tool and allowed in an imbalanced set of mostly London once again!
The Regions are getting no support from Equity because of this.
The BBC is saying one thing (ie 'We're moving out of the M25 for more productions') and moving them to Salford in Manchester and Cardiff! Where are the rest of us supposed to find work? Do we have to still cast in London and then move to Salford or Cardiff to film? I cannot believe the short sightedness of some people!!
But as they say 'You get what you elect!' Let's pray for some Common Sense and not political shennanigans!

I must congratulate Tracy Briggs for a very commendable result of 672 votes. I am sure that she will be one to watch, in two years time!

David Corden also had a respectable result of 409 votes...

May I thank the 908 Equity members who voted for me to work on their behalf - for the next two years!!!

As an independent candidate, I could not rely on any block voting - by either the Rep Cons or the Members 4 Members factions.

Sincerely,

Clive
