    Our News Network is hiring a Production Manager for our News Show based in Washington, DC.This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a network-level, highly-respected public affairs broadcast with growing reach in the streaming and multi-platform space.Responsibilities:The Production Manager will oversee the operational and technical integrity of the broadcast, serve as the liaison between the editorial and control room staff, and is also expected to contribute editorially to the development of the weekly show.This position will handle all guest and correspondent remotes, both domestic and foreign; coordinate editing assignments; oversee the budget; schedule staff; manage show expenses; and handle other responsibilities as it relates to the weekly Sunday show and other multi-platform projects under the This Week portfolio. Candidates must be able to handle coverage of live breaking news and planned live television remotes, have control room experience and enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic news environment.The Production Manager will be the go-to person for all show requests including out-of-the-ordinary creative asks—big and small, planned and last-minute—such as building anchor remotes and multi-camera interviews in the field. This includes crewing, transmission and navigating complex location logistics under tight deadlines. They are also the show’s representative to competitors and third party vendors, and as such must convey the esteem of ABC News.This team leader functions as the connective tissue of the broadcast from inception to execution. The Production Manager must have the ability to straddle between different ABC News departments in both Washington and New York, handle different workforces (union and non-union), and build strong relationships within ABC News and amongst collaborating competitors.Candidates must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. They must be able to work on their own as well as in various team settings to provide high-quality work to the show and ABC News.
