Hiring an Executive Producer for Opinion Audio to oversee our growing portfolio.We’re looking for a leader who can define a vision for opinionated audio at The Times and manage a team to bring these ideas to life. This Executive Producer will be responsible for our existing podcasts -- including Sway, The Argument and The Ezra Klein Show -- as well as the editorial conception, development and production of new shows.We’re looking for an audio journalist with a sense of humor and a capacity for outrage, a confident point of view and an open mind, an appetite for risk and exacting standards for excellence. Impeccable editorial judgment is a must. We’re looking for someone who wants to advance big ideas to make the world a better place, and to have fun doing it. This person should be a proven people manager who can foster an inclusive culture; our team is a little over a year old and came to life during a year of remote work. As we return to the office, the Executive Producer should be able to facilitate a productive transition for the team and the work.Because we aim to promote the most intelligent and provocative debate across a range of subjects — including politics, global affairs, technology, culture and business — this editor must have intellectual range and curiosity. They must also deeply understand the audio landscape and have a track record of bringing a diverse range of voices and perspectives to air.This editor must be collaborative, ready to work closely with editors, writers and columnists across Opinion and the broader NYT Audio Report. Diplomacy is crucial. This position is based in New York and reports to the Head of Audio at NYT. This role will also partner closely with Opinion leadership.
