    Under the department of Performance Services, the Props Manager reports to the Technical Director and Stage Manager, and may supervise production technician assistants and student workers.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Procure, build, or otherwise create props and furniture for BCB productions as assignedEnsure all rehearsal props are delivered to stage management before the first day of staging rehearsalsMaintain props paperwork in coordination with stage managementCoordinate multiple props meetings with director, stage management, and sometimes designersMonitor budget and report on status and potential overages to supervisorCoordinate shop time with Technical DirectorAttend technical and dress rehearsals as assignedSet the work schedule of any additional Production Technicians as assignedMINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in theater technology or relatedExperience in multidisciplinary performing arts preferredKNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:Valid driver’s license and clean driving record requiredWorking knowledge of standard theatrical practices and proceduresGeneral knowledge of theater, musical theater, and opera production needsSKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Creative skills necessaryProficiency in use of hand and power tools, craft work, painting, sewing, upholstery, and any other props-related trades Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Dropbox for record-keeping and communicationsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Occasional supervision of Production Technician assistantsMinimal training and supervision of student workers and backstage crew during rehearsal processRegular supervision of student labor force for maintaining props storageWORK ENVIRONMENT: Indoor environments, some with low light: stages, backstage areas, dressing rooms, costume shop, props storage, office spacesSeated and standing positionsStairsThis is a temporary position.
