Our Media Company seeks an Art Director in New York, NY to design and create the aesthetic representation of the brand. Coordinate with Editor-In-Chief and senior editors to develop layout concepts. Design features and department pages. Direct photographers and stylists for commissioned photoshoots. Perform pre-press duties and review page proofs. Manage and direct freelancers and Junior Designers. Develop concepts to visually illustrate articles. Design typographic treatments to enhance visuals. Design special advertising sections and supplements to feature sponsor advertisers’ products. Develop style templates for magazine sections. Work with Market Department to edit product images for shopping pages. Perform art direction of photography of products to be included in magazine. Review pages for color accuracy with Imaging Specialist and perform direct retouching and color correction
