Our magazine has an incredible opportunity for an ambitious designer to join our award-winning creative team and work firsthand to develop dynamic and creative layouts from concept to print. The Assistant Designer will work directly with the Art and Creative Directors to evolve the magazine’s visual brand through creative typography, expressive photography, and thoughtful illustrations. They will use their excellent communications skills to work directly with editors and photo teams to bring new and exciting ideas to life on the page, review color with the production team to complete their visual plan and finalize files with a keen eye for detail. This person will also support the team as a whole with an eagerness to assist on all manner of design projects to constantly elevate the look and feel of the brand’s visuals across all platforms.Essential Job Functions80% Plan and design magazine department pages collaboratively with CD and ADFind illustrators and assign illustrationsDevelop plans for photoshoots with art and photo teamsOversee photoshoots with photo team and food editors20% Work with production manager to color correct images for assigned storiesUpdate issue walls and work on special projects
