Our News Audio Product, a division of our news network, has an immediate, part-time opening for an experienced music and entertainment content editor. This is a five-day-a-week part-time position with set hours and deadlines, though hours may occasionally be modified as circumstances warrant.The editor will be responsible for reviewing written news stories intended for online publication and ensuring their accuracy, adherence to legal and ethical standards, ABC News policy, and best journalistic practices. The ideal candidate will have several years of journalism experience and outstanding working knowledge of broadcast and digital newswriting, including Associated Press style and fundamentals of grammar and composition.This is not an entry-level position. Candidates must be experienced, dependable, professional and able to hit the ground running. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated candidate to move up to the national level and show what they can do.Responsibilities:Proofread, fact-check and correct broadcast- and print-ready text content and audio/video content against deadline in a fast-paced, collaborative news environment.Ensure content compliance with ABC News policy and best journalistic practices.Provide professional feedback as necessary to writing staff regarding their work.Coordinate efforts with senior editors and supervisors.Write news stories as circumstances may warrant.
