Our News Station in Knoxville, Tennessee is searching for an Assistant News Director to join our Content Team. This role is responsible for leading daily editorial, bringing our Straight from the Heart brand to life, and management of an award-winning newsroom. This role reports to the News Director.Responsibilities:•  Develop and execute long-term newsroom strategy•  Oversee the daily editorial process•  Oversee the on-air execution of newscasts•  Train, develop, and coach the newsroom team•  Source and recruit top-notch journalists•  Participate in coordinating all aspects of coverage, from breaking news to enterprise story production and news specials.•  Ensure that news coverage meets company policies, industry codes, FCC rules, and station brand values•  Direct newsroom operations and schedules
