About me
ADI MEYERSON IS AN ISRAELI RAISED BASSIST AND COMPOSER.She was born in San Francisco to American Parents but grew up in Jerusalem, Israel.
In August 2012 she moved To New York to continue her studies at "The New School for jazz and contemporary music", where she graduated from in 2014, and studied with Reggie Workman, Ron Carter, Bob Cranshaw and many more.
She Has graduated from Manhattan school of music in 2020 with a MM in jazz studies, minoring in Composition.
Since Moving to New York, Meyerson has already made an impact on the NYC jazz scene and earned her title as an up and coming young talent. She has played with Jazz greats such as Joel Frahm, Joe Magnarelli, Steve Nelson, Charli Persip and many others around the NYC area in highly known venues such as Mezzrow, Smalls jazz, Fat Cat, Smoke Jazz, Minton's, Zinc Bar, Dizzy's Coca Cola, and others.
She has toured the US and recorded with pianist and vocalist Champian Fulton for Positone records in 2017.
In 2018 she independently released her debut album “Where We Stand” with a stellar lineup of Musicians featuring Joel Frahm, Freddie Hendrix, Camila Meza, Mike King and Kush Abadey Which was received with much praise from the Jazz World.
The Adi Meyerson Band, led by Bassist and Composer Adi Meyerson is a Hard Hitting Ensemble that constantly thrives to paint a sonic portrait that is both reverential to the Hard Bop Tradition and uniquely progressive and relevant.
Meyerson has toured around the US with her band, toured Costa Rica with her Trio in 2017 and 2018, and performed as part of the faculty of the Quezaltinango International Jazz Camp with her trio in December 2017.
The band as headlined the "Make some Noise" music festival in May 2016, And have headlined the Center City Jazz Festival in Philadelphia in 2019 as well as the international Guatemala Jazz Festival in 2019.
As an Educator, Meyerson has worked with Jazz at Lincoln Center, as part of the Jazz For young people program, preforming in schools around the NY area, Jazz power initiative, Jazz House Kids" as part of their yearly "Chica Power" Residency. In December 2017, She had a chance to travel to Guatemala to teach in the Quezaltinango international Jazz camp along side local and American professors.
Meyerson was selected to participate in the prestigious "Stanford Jazz Workshop Mentor Fellow removed " and has performed at the Stanford Jazz Festival.
in 2018 She was selected to Participant in the BANFF Jazz residency led by Vijay Iyer and Tyshawn Sorey.
As a composer, she had deep knowledge and experience with many styles of music. She has written sting arrangements for pop singers like Kimbra, worked on student films with Columbia MM students, and produced and recorded electronic projects with her band DIA.
Meyerson is NYFA removed Women's Grant recipient for her original composition " I want to sing my heart out in praise of life - the Kusama Suite".
