Seeking a Cinematographer for a low budget, non-union Short Film. Pre-Production has begun.

The Film is a Mystery/Thriller blending Action, Comedy, and Horror into one with a little bit of a Saturday Morning Cartoon vibe to taking place in Southern Louisiana where it follows a group of young college students who must ban together and attempt to solve a case involving the murder of a fellow classmate along the appearance of a Ghost in the swamps who seems to connected to this and all of the strange events that having been plaguing the area lately.

Shooting on May 14th will consist of 1 Full Overnight Shoot lasting 12 Hours from 6pm to 6am (technically wrapping that morning of the 15th). It will be a mix of both Indoor/Outdoor Shooting mostly Night Shoots with one scene outside at sunset. The large majority of this Production will be indoors at Night. All Filming will take place in the greater Los Angeles area. Craft Service will be provided on set 24/7 along with a half-hour lunch break that night.

A large majority of this Film will be Shot Handheld along with Scenes which will use a slider at times. Several different looks and styles will be put into play for the appearance of this Film including colored gels for many scenes, camera saturation, use of extremely wide and long lenses at times, scenes being played out in continuous non-cutting takes which could last 3-5 minutes, etc.

This is a very Fast Paced/Light Hearted Film overall (Similar in tone to Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein) yet it still has its scarier more intense moments with the Horror elements of this story and we want to be certain to capture this visually while at the same time making sure that Dialogue and Character development do its part to create an amazing emotional journey. Writing wise this Film is a mix of Dialogue and Action Sequences.
