The 75th Golden Globes winners list – Big Little Lies and Three Billboards win big
THE 75th Golden Globes took place last night at the Beverly Hills Hilton in California, US, and saw a string of film and TV stars pick up awards for their creative craft.
Hundreds of actors, producers, director, writers and execs attended the ceremony with many wearing all black to show solidarity against gender imbalance and sexual harassment in the wake of shocking allegations against several men – including producer Harvey Weinstein and actor Kevin Spacey – last year.
TV chat show host Oprah Winfrey made a blisteringly beautiful speech – which received a standing ovation – on receiving her Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award, saying: "I want all the girls watching here, now, to know that a new day is on the horizon!
"And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say “me too” again."
